Ironhead Bobber Project 2012

Wes pulled that fender off a trailer and welded it to the frame. Fits like a glove.

Cool idea for a paint job

I picked up this Bic lighter at a gas station earlier and think this would be a cool concept for Wes to delve into. I've always loved eastern Asian artwork.

Break Time

Read our favorite magazine
The Horse Backstreet Choppers, Sept. '09

This is what fun looks like

Is there anything more fun (while at work) than using the grinder?

Further welding strengthens the tail.... (I mean, this is a pretty critical component of the bike, right? That's what we thought)...

ironhead Bobber project 2012

In November 2011, Wes got a wild hair to start chopping and welding every scrap pipe in the shop.  He ended up coming out, like usual, with some pretty awesome designs.  Here's the mad man at work:

Ironhead Bobber project 2012

This is what we ended up with by late-summer/fall of 2011.  A great, fun ride, but with lots of custom, hand-made parts.  Added a 23-tooth countershaft sprocket, replacing the stock 21-tooth sprocket, which allowed for more comfortable cruises at highway speeds.  Averaged about 35-40 miles per gallon.

Here is our '75 Sporty, back in June 2011,  Rebuilt transmission and corrected a few other mechanical errors.  This was the starting point for the Bobber project.

Winter Projects 2012

Beginning in November 2011, we began one of our Winter Projects, complete chopper remake of a 1975 Harley Davidson Sportster.  Project was to include:  stretching frame by adding hardtail, fabrication of low profile fenders, oil tank, gas tank, etc.
